Notes

Fly poison (Amianthium muscitoxicum) is a perennial for borders, woodland gardens, shade gardens, and accents. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes part sun or part shade and average to moist, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. Deer rarely make it their first choice. Dense flower spikes open white and then turn bronzy-green. The narrow leaves arch downward and look a bit like hyacinth foliage.

Pairs well with Red trillium, Bellwort, and Western sword fern.
