Notes

Fragrant mimosa (Mimosa borealis) is a shrub for borders, specimen plantings, and hedges. It is hardy to USDA zone 7, or down to 0°F (-18°C). This plant likes full sun to part shade and dry soil of most types. Pink puffball flowers open in spring and again in summer, and bees and butterflies visit them for nectar. Deer tend to browse other plants first. Small thorns line the branches, so plant it away from high traffic areas.

Pairs well with Cenizo, Little bluestem, Blackfoot daisy, and Parry's agave.
