Notes

Gloxinia (Sinningia speciosa) is a tuberous bulb for containers, cottage gardens, and rock gardens. It grows outdoors year-round in USDA zone 11 and warmer, down to about 40°F (4°C). In colder areas, grow it as a houseplant or bring it indoors for winter. This plant likes part sun to full shade and average to moist, sandy or loamy soil. It forms a mounding clump of green evergreen leaves, 6 to 12 inches tall and wide. Its blooms come in lavender, purple, red, and white.

Pairs well with Royal Velvet amaryllis, Asiatic jasmine, and Appleblossom petunia.
