Notes

'Goldschleier' alpine hair grass (Deschampsia cespitosa 'Goldschleier') is a grass for borders and cottage gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and moist to wet soil. It forms a clumping mound and tolerates drought and salt. Birds visit it. It is not a favorite of deer or rabbits, though hungry ones will eat almost anything.

Pairs well with Western sword fern, Gladiator ornamental onion, and Strawberry Hill rose.
