Notes

Horseherb (Calyptocarpus vialis) is a perennial for ground cover, shade gardens, and pollinator gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 7, or down to 0°F (-18°C). This plant likes full sun to full shade and dry to moist soil of most types. It tolerates moderate foot traffic, and its tiny yellow daisy flowers attract small butterflies like sulfurs and skippers. It is evergreen in mild winters and deciduous in cold ones. Deer and rabbits rarely make it their first choice.

Pairs well with Green and gold, Common blue violet, and Mondo grass.
