Notes

Impatiens (Impatiens walleriana) is an annual for borders, containers, shade gardens, and woodland gardens. It is typically grown as an annual. Frost will kill it, so set it out only after the last frost in spring. This plant likes part sun to full shade and average to moist soil. Deer and rabbits usually look elsewhere for a meal. The flowers come in pink, rose, red, lilac, purple, orange, white, and bicolors and attract butterflies, hummingbirds, and bees.

Pairs well with Southern shield fern, Australian tree fern, and Tuff Stuff mountain hydrangea.

Native range

Tanzania and Mozambique.
