Notes

'Tuff Stuff' mountain hydrangea (Hydrangea serrata 'Tuff Stuff') is a shrub for borders, containers, cottage gardens, and shade gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes full sun to full shade and average to moist, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. It grows 2 to 3 feet tall and wide and blooms again after its first flush. The rich pink lacecap flowers can turn lavender blue in lower pH soil, and bees visit them.

Pairs well with Japanese forest grass, Sum and Substance hosta, and Christmas fern.
