Notes

'Iron Blue' stock (Matthiola incana 'Iron Blue') is an annual for borders, cut flowers, containers, and cottage gardens. It grows well in cool weather and can ride out a light frost. This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist soil of most types. Blue flowers open in early to late spring and again in early to late summer, and the fragrant blooms attract butterflies, bees, and birds. Deer usually look elsewhere for a meal.

Pairs well with Aster, Cornflower, Feverfew, and Fountain grass.
