Notes
Jewelweed (Impatiens capensis) is an annual for pollinator gardens, shade gardens, and rain gardens. It is typically grown as an annual. It cannot take cold, and a freeze will end its season. This plant likes part sun to full shade and average to wet, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. Its golden-orange flowers have reddish-brown splotches and suit hummingbirds well, though bees and butterflies visit too. Deer tend to browse other plants first.
Pairs well with Hummingbird sweet pepperbush, Canada wild rye, and White Swan coneflower.
