Notes

Jojoba (Simmondsia chinensis) is a shrub for containers, hedges, and low maintenance gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 8, or down to 10°F (-12°C). This plant likes full sun to part shade and dry, sandy or loamy soil. It grows slowly into a broad, low mound with leathery, gray-green leaves. Female plants bear green, acorn-like fruits that are about 50 percent oil. The oil is used in cosmetics, lubricants, and cooking.

Pairs well with Brittlebush, Eastern mojave buckwheat, and Creosote bush.
