Notes

Lanceleaf springbeauty (Claytonia lanceolata) is a perennial for low maintenance and woodland gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full sun and average to moist, sandy or loamy soil. It blooms in spring, barely waiting for the snow to melt. The bowl-shaped flowers are usually white to pink, and they attract butterflies and bees. Plants stay small, from 2 to 10 inches tall.

Pairs well with White trillium, Royal fern, and Royal Star star magnolia.
