Notes

White trillium (Trillium grandiflorum) is a perennial for shade gardens, woodland gardens, and naturalized areas. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full sun to full shade and average to moist, sandy, loamy, or chalky soil. Its large white flowers fade to pale pink as they age. It is a spring ephemeral that may go dormant by summer, and it may sulk a bit in its second year. A mulch of shredded leaves helps it settle in.

Pairs well with Woodland phlox, Bellwort, Royal fern, and Sensitive fern.
