Notes

'Macarena' fire spinner ice plant (Delosperma 'Macarena') is a succulent for pots, rock gardens, and borders. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes full sun and dry to average soil. Deer tend to browse other plants first. Large orange flowers with rose-red eyes cover the evergreen mat in spring, and a smaller flush returns in late summer. Bees visit the blooms, which close at night and reopen mid-morning.

Pairs well with Blue grama, Texas bluebonnet, and Feather reed grass.
