Notes

'Magic Fire' northern red oak (Quercus rubra 'Magic Fire') is a tree for specimen planting, hedges, and privacy screens. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to moist, sandy or loamy soil. Deer tend to pass it by. It has a conical shape and grows at a rapid rate. It is also drought tolerant, so it can handle dry spells once settled in.

Pairs well with Indian grass, Magnus coneflower, Common milkweed, and Nodding onion.
