Notes

'Magnus' coneflower (Echinacea purpurea 'Magnus') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, pollinator gardens, and cottage gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to moist soil of most types. Its rose-pink petals surround a coppery-brown, spiky cone, and the blooms fade to pale rose as they age. Deer tend to browse other plants first. Avoid soils that stay overly moist in winter.

Pairs well with Goldsturm black-eyed Susan, Prairie dropseed, Moonshine yarrow, and Nodding onion.
