Notes

Mescal ceniza (Agave colorata) is a succulent for borders, containers, and xeriscape beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 8, or down to 10°F (-12°C). This plant likes full sun and dry, sandy, loamy, or chalky soil. It stays evergreen and tolerates drought, so it needs little care. Butterflies, hummingbirds, and birds visit it. Deer rarely make it their first choice.

Pairs well with Narrow-leaf chalksticks, Elijah Blue blue fescue, and California poppy.
