Notes

'Mexican Torch' Mexican sunflower (Tithonia rotundifolia 'Mexican Torch') is an annual for borders, cut flowers, and pollinator gardens. Frost will kill it, so set it out only after the last frost in spring. This plant likes full sun and dry to average, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. It grows fast, stands erect, and draws bees, butterflies, hummingbirds, and birds. It is not a favorite of deer, though hungry deer will eat almost anything. Cut stems make good bouquets.

Pairs well with Melampodium, Double Zahara Cherry zinnia, and Cerise Queen yarrow.
