Notes

'Midwinter Fire' common dogwood (Cornus sanguinea 'Midwinter Fire') is a shrub for borders, winter interest, hedges, and privacy screens. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist soil of most types. It grows upright and reaches up to 72 inches tall and wide. Deer usually look elsewhere for a meal. The leaves turn color in fall, and bees, butterflies, and birds visit it.

Pairs well with Chokeberry, Karl Foerster feather reed grass, and American holly.
