Notes
Mountain paintbrush (Haemanthus montanus) is a bulb for containers, houseplants, and rock gardens. It grows outdoors year-round in USDA zone 9 and warmer, down to about 20°F (-7°C). In colder areas, grow it as a houseplant or bring it indoors for winter. This plant likes full or part sun and dry to moist soil. Dense creamy white umbels open in summer, followed by two upright, tongue-like, bluish green leaves. Keep the soil moist in summer while it grows and dry in winter when it rests.
Pairs well with Cyclamen, Lemon Coral sedum, and Vetiver.
