Notes

Cyclamen (Cyclamen persicum) is a bulb for containers, winter interest, and annual beds. It grows outdoors year-round in USDA zone 9 and warmer, down to about 20°F (-7°C). In colder areas, grow it as a houseplant or bring it indoors for winter. This plant likes part sun or part shade and dry to moist, loamy soil. The pink, red, violet, lavender, and white flowers are fragrant and attract bees. Deer and rabbits usually look elsewhere for a meal. The silvery or variegated leaves add color too.

Pairs well with Christmas fern, Begonia, and Oakleaf hydrangea.

Northern Africa, western Asia, and Greece.
