Notes

Narrowleaf mule ears (Wyethia angustifolia) is a perennial for borders and low maintenance gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full sun and dry to moist soil of most types. Large, sunflower-like yellow flowers bloom in spring and summer. Butterflies and bees visit them. Its deep tap root makes it drought tolerant once established, so plant it where you want it to stay.

Pairs well with Poppy mallow, Buffalo grass, and Gladiator ornamental onion.
