Notes
Narrowleaf silkgrass (Pityopsis graminifolia) is a perennial for borders, ground cover, and pollinator gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes full sun to part shade and dry to average, sandy soil. Its silvery, grass-like leaves stay evergreen, and bright-yellow, daisy-like flowers rise above them. Butterflies and bees visit the blooms. Avoid rich, damp soil, because this tough plant does poorly there.
Pairs well with Rock rose, Blue mistflower, Casa Blanca lily, and Bush honeysuckle.
