Notes

Onion (Allium cepa) is a bulb for borders, containers, and the food garden. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes full sun and dry to moist, sandy, loamy, or chalky soil. The white flowers have a green stripe, and the bulbs vary in size and shape from cultivar to cultivar. Deer and rabbits rarely make it their first choice. You can enjoy its fragrance and arching green leaves.

Pairs well with Tarragon, Sugar Snap pea, and Lemon thyme.
