Notes

Tarragon (Artemisia dracunculus) is a perennial for food gardens, containers, and rock gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full sun and dry to average, sandy or loamy soil. It forms a fragrant, shrub-like mound of gray and green leaves, 18 to 36 inches tall. Deer and rabbits tend to browse other plants first. Small yellowish-white flowers open in early to late summer, and the plant tolerates drought.

Pairs well with Paprika yarrow, Blue grama, and Garlic chives.
