Notes

Oregon checkerbloom (Sidalcea oregana) is a perennial for woodland and meadow gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 6, or down to -10°F (-23°C). This plant likes full or part sun and moist to wet soil. Its pink flowers look like a dainty hollyhock and bloom from spring into early autumn, and bees and butterflies visit them. Deer usually look elsewhere for a meal. Deadhead the spent flowers to encourage more blooms.

Pairs well with Feather reed grass, Blue star creeper, and Japanese maple.
