Notes

Pagoda horsemint (Blephilia ciliata) is a perennial for pollinator gardens, meadows, and low maintenance beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full sun to full shade and dry to moist, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. Lavender flowers crowd into whorled clusters near the tops of the stems, and butterflies and bees visit them. The plant is fragrant and drought tolerant. Deer tend to browse other plants first.

Pairs well with Smooth aster, Little bluestem, Tennessee coneflower, and Poppy mallow.
