Notes

Pale Indian plantain (Arnoglossum atriplicifolium) is a perennial for borders, pollinator gardens, and meadows. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist, sandy or loamy soil. The erect stem can reach 3 to 5 feet or taller, and the fan-shaped leaves have a whitish bloom. Whitish flowers form flat-topped clusters in summer and attract butterflies and bees. It sits low on the menu for deer.

Pairs well with Prairie dropseed, Goldenseal, and High-bush blueberry.
