Notes

'Perkins Pink' American yellowwood (Cladrastis kentukea 'Perkins Pink') is a tree for specimen planting, shade gardens, and pollinator gardens, and it needs little upkeep. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist, sandy or loamy soil. It grows slowly into a broad tree. Pink, fragrant flowers open in spring and again in summer, and bees visit them.

Pairs well with Paperbark maple, Sedge, and Golden Tiara hosta.
