Notes

Paperbark maple (Acer griseum) is a tree for specimen planting, winter interest, and accent use in woodland gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist soil of most types. The bark is copper, reddish orange, and warm brown, and it peels and curls as the tree ages. Fall color comes in red, orange, and pink. It sits low on the menu for deer.

Pairs well with Christmas fern, Foam flower, and Star magnolia.
