Notes
Sedge (Carex pensylvanica) is a grass for ground cover, shade gardens, low maintenance beds, and naturalized areas. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full sun to full shade and dry to wet, sandy or loamy soil. It spreads by rhizomes, so give it room to form a soft, fine-textured carpet. The leaves turn sandy-tan in fall. Deer usually look elsewhere for a meal.
Pairs well with Royal fern, Sensitive fern, and Virginia creeper.

Eastern North America.
