Notes

Pineland threeawn (Aristida stricta) is a grass for borders, winter interest, and meadows. It is hardy to USDA zone 8, or down to 10°F (-12°C). This plant likes full sun to part shade and dry to moist, sandy or loamy soil. It forms a wiry, tidy clump that grows 2 to 4 feet tall. Bachman's Sparrows eat the seeds. Deer usually look elsewhere for a meal.

Pairs well with Beautyberry, Passionflower, and Loblolly pine.
