Notes

Prairie milkweed (Asclepias sullivantii) is a perennial for meadow gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full sun and average to wet soil. Pink or pinkish-white flowers form large, domed clusters on stout, erect stems in early to late summer. The blooms are fragrant and attract butterflies. The thick leaves are oval and somewhat succulent.

Pairs well with Arizona Sun blanket flower, Black Oil sunflower, and Foxtail barley.
