Notes

Purple angelica (Angelica gigas) is a perennial for pollinator gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and moist soil. Its large, crimson-purple flower umbels sit on dark purple stalks and draw bees. Plants are short-lived, so let the seeds fall and they will re-seed here and there in the border.

Pairs well with White Feather hosta, Gladiator ornamental onion, and Autumn Brilliance juneberry.

Asia and Manchuria.
