Notes

'Red Balloon' dahlia (Dahlia 'Red Balloon') is a bulb for borders, cut flowers, containers, and cottage gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 7, or down to 0°F (-18°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist soil. The red flowers shade from strong red to a vivid yellow base. They bloom from early to late summer and again in early to late autumn, and bees, butterflies, and hummingbirds visit them. C. Geerlings bred it in 1998.

Pairs well with Snapdragon, Black-eyed Susan, and Blue Angel hosta.
