Notes

'Red Volunteer' daylily (Hemerocallis 'Red Volunteer') is a perennial for borders, pollinator gardens, containers, and low maintenance beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to moist, loamy, clay, or chalky soil. It is not a favorite of rabbits, though hungry rabbits will eat almost anything. It blooms in spring and summer, and the flowers are fragrant. Butterflies, hummingbirds, bees, and birds visit it.

Pairs well with Black-eyed Susan, Sedge, and Indian grass.
