Notes
'Rich Ruby' beardtongue (Penstemon 'Rich Ruby') is a perennial for borders, pollinator gardens, and containers. It is hardy to USDA zone 7, or down to 0°F (-18°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to average, sandy, loamy, or chalky soil. Hummingbirds, bees, and birds visit the blooms, and it tolerates drought and salt. It is not a favorite of deer or rabbits, though hungry ones will eat almost anything.
Pairs well with Spotted beebalm, Evening primrose, and Purple top.
