Notes

'Red Riding Hood' beardtongue (Penstemon 'Red Riding Hood') is a perennial for borders, containers, and low maintenance gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes full sun and dry, sandy or loamy soil. It blooms from early to late summer and again in early to late autumn, and hummingbirds and bees visit the flowers. Deer and rabbits tend to browse other plants first. It also tolerates drought and salt.

Pairs well with Yarrow, Coneflower, and Rosemary.
