Notes

Robin's plantain (Erigeron pulchellus) is a perennial for borders, cottage gardens, rock gardens, and meadows. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full sun to part shade and dry to moist soil of most types. Pale violet rays surround yellow centers and appear in spring and again in summer. It spreads by surface runners and forms colonies, so give it room. Butterflies and bees visit the flowers.

Pairs well with Creeping phlox, Eastern columbine, Nodding onion, and Standing Ovation little bluestem.

Native range

Eastern and south-central United States.
