Notes

Rose pogonia (Pogonia ophioglossoides) is a perennial orchid for pollinator gardens, meadows, and low maintenance plantings. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full sun and moist to wet, sandy soil. Each slender stem usually carries just one pink flower with a fragrance, which is unusual for an orchid. The lower lip is densely bearded with white to yellow bristles.

Pairs well with Royal fern, Pitcher plant, and Blackhawks big bluestem.
