Notes
'Sam Hopkins' dahlia (Dahlia 'Sam Hopkins') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, containers, and accents. It is hardy to USDA zone 8, or down to 10°F (-12°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. The brown-purple blooms open from early to late summer and again in autumn. Bees, butterflies, hummingbirds, and birds visit the flowers. C. Geerlings bred it in 2005.
Pairs well with New Zealand wind grass, Knotweed, and Black-eyed Susan.
