Notes

Sand milkweed (Asclepias arenaria) is a perennial for pollinator gardens, naturalized areas, and sandy borders. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant grows 2 to 4 feet tall from a stout rootstock. Its leaves and stems are densely woolly, and its pale green flowers cluster where the leaves meet the stem. Bees visit the blooms from early to late summer, and some flowers may last into early autumn.

Pairs well with Karl Foerster feather reed grass, Cosmos, and Sunflower.
