Notes
Sunflower (Helianthus annuus) is an annual for borders, cottage gardens, and tall backdrops. Frost will kill it, so set it out only after the last frost in spring. This plant likes full sun and average moisture. It grows from 36 to 120 inches tall and stays about 18 inches wide. Yellow blooms top the stems, so tuck it at the back of a bed where it will not shade shorter plants.
Pairs well with Profusion zinnia, Flower of an hour, Zucchini, and Butterfly sweet pea.
