Notes

'Sapphire' alpine oatgrass (Helictotrichon sempervirens 'Sapphire') is a grass for borders, containers, rock gardens, and xeriscapes. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to moist soil of most types. It grows 24 to 36 inches tall in a slow, arching mound. Drought and salt do not bother it, and butterflies visit it. It sits low on the menu for deer and rabbits.

Pairs well with Cheyenne Spirit echinacea, Moonshine yarrow, and Blue Star common juniper.
