Notes
Shrubby hare's ear (Bupleurum fruticosum) is a shrub for borders, pollinator gardens, and low maintenance planting. It is hardy to USDA zone 7, or down to 0°F (-18°C). This plant likes full sun and dry, sandy, loamy, or chalky soil. It stays evergreen and tolerates drought and salt. Bees visit the flowers, which open in early to late summer. It sits low on the menu for deer.
Pairs well with Picos Blue Mediterranean sea holly, First Knight fountain grass, and Elfin mother of thyme.
