Notes

Siberian lily (Ixiolirion tataricum) is a bulb for borders, cut flowers, rock gardens, and accents. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to average, loamy soil. Light blue to purple flowers with darker veins open in early to late spring and look like small lilies. It is not a favorite of deer, though hungry deer will eat almost anything. Bulbs like steady moisture while they grow.

Pairs well with Spanish bluebell, Blonde Ambition blue grama, and Cheerfulness daffodil.

Native range

SW & C Asia and Kashmir.
