Solar Flare begonia

Garden uses

Notes

'Solar Flare' begonia (Begonia 'Solar Flare') is a perennial for borders, containers, and shade gardens. It grows outdoors year-round in USDA zone 10 and warmer, down to about 30°F (-1°C). In colder areas, grow it as a houseplant or bring it indoors for winter. This plant likes part sun to full shade and dry to moist soil. It reaches 18 to 24 inches tall and wide. Pale pink flowers open in early to late summer and again in early to late autumn. It is not a favorite of deer or rabbits, though hungry ones will eat almost anything.

Pairs well with Boston fern, Angel wings, Polka dot plant, and Holly fern.
