Notes
'Soquel' redwood (Sequoia sempervirens 'Soquel') is a tree for winter interest and rain gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 7, or down to 0°F (-18°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to wet soil. It is not a favorite of deer, though hungry deer will eat almost anything. The tree grows fast and forms a tall, columnar shape. Its evergreen needles keep color all year, and the tree attracts butterflies and birds.
Pairs well with Inkberry, Carolina jessamine, and Mondo grass.
