Notes
Spring snowflake (Leucojum vernum) is a bulb for borders, rock gardens, and woodland gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist soil of most types. Its pendulous white bells have green spots on each petal and open a few weeks after snowdrops. Deer and rabbits usually look elsewhere for a meal. Bees visit the flowers for early nectar.
Pairs well with Cheerfulness daffodil, Western sword fern, and Spanish bluebell.
Native range
Europe and from Belgium & Poland to Pyrenees & Yugoslavia.
