Notes

Stiff aster (Ionactis linariifolia) is a perennial for borders, rock gardens, and pollinator gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to moist, sandy soil. Blue-violet to purple flowers with yellow centers open in early to late summer and again in early to late autumn. Butterflies and bees visit the blooms, and the plant tolerates drought.

Pairs well with Cheyenne Spirit echinacea, Blue fescue, and Hyssop.
