Notes

Sunshine mimosa (Mimosa strigillosa) is a perennial for ground cover and low maintenance gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 8, or down to 10°F (-12°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to moist, sandy or loamy soil. Pink flowers open in early to late spring and again in early to late summer. Butterflies and bees visit the blooms. The leaves stay evergreen, and the plant handles drought well.

Pairs well with Butterfly milkweed, Rusty staggerbush, and Fetter bush.
